MEATBALLS AND GRAVY

Make meatballs & gravy when you’re craving stick to your ribs comfort food. They’re made from scratch in less than 1 hour!

INGREDIENTS

Panko Japanese breadcrumbs –  milk  lean ground beef  –  garlic cloves  –  large egg Worcestershire sauce –  Italian seasoning coarse kosher salt –  ground black pepper

Combine Panko and Milk

In a small bowl, combine Panko & milk. Set aside to soak for a min.

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the Panko mixture, beef, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper. Mix well.

Shape the Meatballs

Using a medium cookie scoop, shape the meatballs & arrange them on a baking sheet, lined with parchment paper.

Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet, heat olive oil. Arrange the meatballs in one layer &  brown on all sides, turning each meatball. Remove them.

Cook the Mushroom

Pour the olive oil into the same skillet & add mushrooms. Cook while stirring for about 3 mins Remove them onto a clean plate.

Make the Roux

In the same skillet, melt butter & stir in the flour. Cook flour mixture for 2 mins, whisking constantly. Pour in the stock while whisking continuously.

Add Worcestershire sauce

Add Worcestershire sauce & garlic & bring it to a boil, whisking frequently.

Add Meatballs

Add the browned meatballs & mushrooms and cook for additional 8-10 mins. If the gravy thickens too much, add a little bit of water, or stock. Salt & pepper to taste.

Serve

If desired, add chopped parsley before serving. Serve over mashed potatoes, or noodles, for a complete meal.
